Cheam Fishing Village – Campground Host/Manager (CEI)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cheam Fishing Village (CFV) is owned and operated by Cheam First Nation and Cheam Enterprises Inc. and has an immediate opening for an onsite, seasonal Campground Manager for the remaining 2024 season. The CFV is a seasonal campground with 42 campsites, day parking, a boat launch, and riverside trails located on the shore of the majestic Fraser River in the Cheam First Nation territory on the Pelólxw tribal grounds.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, honest, detail-oriented, possess exceptional customer service skills and have the ability to manage all of the various aspects of a busy campsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Manage and supervise a support staff member  
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Knowledge of office computer programs (Microsoft Excel Word + Email)
  • Maintain guest log book and collect applicable fees
  • Ability to reconcile monthly account transactions
  • Facebook / Instagram / LinkedIn
  • Staff customer check-in centre
  • Conduct routine campground, garbage, and washroom checks
  • Maintain a clean/tidy camp host campsite
  • Use of general landscape tools
  • Call for emergency services as required
  • Monitor after-hours activities and report suspicious activities to CEI Security – with a follow-up email to management.
  • Promote and market the campground to increase bookings

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Must be reliable, a self-starter, honest, and dedicated
  • Have previous management/campground experience
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Is at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • A valid and current vehicle driver’s license
  • Current vehicle registration and insurance consistent with the Motor Vehicles Act
  • Have a safe operating vehicle
