The Xwchíyò:m of the Stó:lō People have lived in S’ólh Téméxw, according to our swxoxwiyam, since time immemorial. We have never ceded or surrendered title to our lands, rights to our resources, or authority to make decisions within our territory.

Cheam Reserve is located about 110 kms east of the city of Vancouver and 1.5 kms north of the Trans-Canada Highway #1. Cheam has a population of approximately 500 Members. Cheam’s reserve land base, on both sides of the Fraser River, is approximately 463 hectares. Cheam is governed by a chief and five councillors, all of whom are elected by Members for two-year terms.
