January 7, 2021 COVID-19 Update

This past week, the EOC team has been diligently working alongside the First Nation Health Authority, Fraser Health, Seabird Island Health and Emergency Management BC to ensure wrap around support services are provided to those Members with confirmed cases of Covid-19 and those that are self-isolating.

In addition, the EOC team has secured funding for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies for each home within the Community and early next week, volunteers and staff will be going house to house dropping of these kits which contain:

  • Disposable Masks
  • Disinfectant Spray
  • Gloves
  • Paper Towel
  • Hand Soap
  • Sand Sanitizer

During this very stressful and challenging time, it is more important now, than ever, to demonstrate the strength of our Community by providing the much-needed love and support to those affected by Covid-19 and by following the Covid-19 provincial health directives. Please remember to wear your mask, wash your hands/use hand sanitizer, maintain social distance and do not to go outside of your bubble. Together, as a Community, we can help stop the spread of Covid-19 and protect our most vulnerable.

COVID-19 SUPPORTS

The Cheam EOC will be providing support to individuals with an active case of COVID-19. Please contact the Cheam EOC team at 604-819-0264 or [email protected] and we will assess how to best provide you supports.

BE KIND

Remember, the virus is the enemy, not the people. When a case is confirmed, we ask that Cheam come together to support and respect one another.

Please stay safe and continue to follow the public health orders!

Thank you,
Cheam Emergency Operations Centre Team
