January 3, 2021 COVID-19 Update

Since January 1, 2021, the Cheam Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has reported three (3) confirmed cases of COVID-19 with Members that are living in and out of the Community.

The EOC team is working with the Fraser Health Authority, Emergency Management BC and First Nation Health Authority to develop a plan of action to support the Community and we will provide Community updates as more information becomes available.

At this time, the EOC team is conducting Community contact tracing and would appreciate your support as we move through this process.

CONTACT TRACING

If you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, please get tested.  If your test comes back positive, please self-quarantine and inform the Cheam EOC about the people you have spent time with.

If you were in direct contact with an individual with a confirmed case of COVID-19, a member of public health and/or the Cheam EOC team will contact you to let you know that you may have been exposed. If you have or develop any COVID-19 symptoms, you will be asked to go for testing and to self-isolate for 14 days.

COVID-19 SUPPORTS

The Cheam EOC will be providing support to individuals with an active case of COVID-19.   Please contact the Cheam EOC team at [email protected] or 604-819-0264 and we will assess how to best provide you supports.

BE KIND

Remember, the virus is the enemy, not the people. When a case is confirmed, we ask that Cheam come together to support and respect one another.

Please stay safe and continue to follow the public health orders!

Thank you,
Cheam Emergency Operations Centre Team
