The CSEO-2 is responsible for supervising shift operations, mentoring junior officers, and supporting strategic and tactical enforcement efforts aligned with CFN’s laws, values, and community well-being priorities.
Reporting to the Community Safety & Enforcement Staff Sergeant and the Division Manager, the CSEO-2 ensures efficient delivery of culturally safe, lawful, and responsive safety services, consistent communication with leadership, and seamless collaboration with internal departments and external agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol community areas (on foot, bicycle, or vehicle) and monitor risk locations.
- Respond to non-emergency incidents, bylaw infractions, and community concerns.
- Provide First Aid/CPR and assist individuals in crisis until emergency responders arrive.
- Conduct wellness checks on residents, animals, and properties.
- Enforce CFN land laws and bylaws within jurisdiction.
- Document incidents thoroughly, including reports, evidence, and required forms.
- Mediate minor disputes and support community-based resolutions.
- Assist in investigations, protect scenes, and coordinate with law enforcement as needed.
- Engage respectfully with community members and promote safety education.
- Refer individuals to CFN services or external support programs.
- Liaise with CFN departments, RCMP, and partner agencies to coordinate safety efforts.
- Maintain awareness of CFN regulations and applicable legislation.
- Provide daily operational guidance and mentorship to CSEO-1 officers.
- Oversee and coordinate shift deployment, ensuring consistent and strategic community coverage.
- Act as Shift Lead, ensuring adherence to CFN and Division policies and accountability protocols.
- Communicate proactively with the Staff Sergeant and Manager regarding shift performance, operational challenges, and safety strategies.
- Represent CFN in inter-agency collaborations, outreach programs, and safety education initiatives.
- Respond to escalated or complex incidents, exercising sound leadership and discretion.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of shift documentation, reports, and logs to organizational standards.
- Participate in incident reviews, safety planning, and operational strategy discussions.
- Promote team compliance with safety protocols, privacy legislation, and ethical enforcement practices.
- Liaise with CFN departments, including Health, Lands, and Administration, as well as with external agencies such as the RCMP and EMS.

Requirements:
- Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract.
- First Aid/CPR Level 1 or 2.
- Note Taking /Report Writing Training Course
- Use of Force Certification (Baton, OC Spray)
- Naloxone Training
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviour)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
