We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Financial Administrator. This key position is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, payroll, budgeting, and HR-related tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial and administrative functions.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Prepare, review, and post invoices, bills, and financial transactions.
  • Balance bank accounts and financial statements.
  • Assist in developing budgets. Monitor budgets, track performance, and provide detailed reporting to management.
  • Coordinate year-end processes, including audits and preparation of required documentation.

Payroll Administration

  • Process payroll accurately, including calculating earnings, deductions, and benefits.
  • Prepare and issue payroll-related filings (T4s, ROEs, etc.) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll and benefit records.
  • Address payroll inquiries and discrepancies efficiently.

Human Resources Support

  • Maintain employee records, including attendance, leave, and overtime tracking.
  • Process HR documentation related to benefits, pensions, and insurance.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to assist decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA designation is an asset).
  • &/or minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and payroll, with exposure to HR functions.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Cheam First Nation culture is an asset.
