The governance department provides administrative support to Chief and Council.

Governance acts as a major liaison between the political and administrative function of governance. Governance leads, coaches and mentors a management team to achieve governance plans and goals and to link services and program activities within the department and across departments to develop processes and to optimize capacity. Governance provides leadership, and support to Council on cross government (STC, UBCIC) initiatives when they are the profile goals and strategies of the Council.
Governance refers members to the appropriate Councillor portfolio holder or administration personnel. Governance assists members with enquiries regarding Council or programs and services; makes the appropriate referrals; provides and/or assists band members with administrative forms as requested; organizes all band meeting announcements, schedules and events.
