Professional Development

Some of Cheam's intended outcomes are geared towards economical growth and providing more services to not only the membership in our community but the communities in and around our territory.  At current we have developed a Comprehensive Community Plan, which includes a land use plan; we are developing a 5 year Economic Development Plan; we plan to be engaged in discussions with industry partners and we are looking into commercial property development off highway #9 Re: housing, tourism, land development and agriculture.

Chief & Council is currently developing a strategy for fish management and to design a Fraser River Stewardship Plan. Initiatives and business start-ups create employment which sustains long term financial security.  Some Initiatives for employment will be through: designing an intake channel for boats; construction of a potential Marina; farm land rentals; sand / gravel pit; fishing; wood sales and planned crop field partnerships with produce.
